Ms. Jane Kiptum Mutai

The Clerk of the County Assembly

Her professional experience spans more than eleven years as an advocate of the high court and more than nine (9) years as clerk to Elgeyo Marakwet County Assembly.

Madam Jane Mutai is the current Vice Chair at The SOCATT - Kenya (Society of Clerks At The Table in Kenyan Legislatures). Prior to her current position, she served as the Chair Legal Committee at The SOCATT .

Ms Mutai participated in the constitutional making process from 2003-2005 at the Bomas of Kenya delegate’s conference and child rights advocacy.

Ms Mutai is the only lady clerk in Kenyan County Assemblies with exemplary performance in quality management systems, in service delivery and passage of unique County bills under her leadership.

She holds a masters degree in International Relations from Kisii University and a Bachelors degree in law (LL.B) from Moi University.
